Terms of Sale & Policy

Kid Sales:  Dakota Pygoras requires  a $100.00 deposit to be placed on the reservation list. Deposits are refundable if we do not have a Pygora kid to fit your needs. All reservations are first come first serve.

When you put a $100 deposit down, it goes 100% towards your purchase of as many kids as you would like.  You will have the opportunity to preview our early Spring Kid  Sales List on the internet in the order your deposit was received.

Once you have chosen your kids, then an additional $100   is due to finalize your reservation for that kid.  Once reserved the balance will be due before pick up or delivery is made. (Note: Your deposit *(now $200)  is non-refundable once kids are put on “Reserved” for you.)

Example of how your deposit works: You made a $100 deposit to be put on the reserve a kid list.

The kids have been born; so now you select the kid and make an additional $100 deposit.

If you have not reserved a kid, the deposit to hold the kid for you would be $200.

Kids should be picked up within 2 weeks of the agreed-upon weaning date. This date will be made of record with your deposit.  After this date kids will be reevaluated on an ongoing basis and the selling price revised as they grow and develop.   Costs of labor, feeding, vaccines, worming, coccidia preventives, and other factors will be considered in the reevaluation and price revision process.

If a buyer is not able to pick up an animal as agreed, the sale will be null and void. Deposits will not be refunded.

All animals are priced on the farm;  all shipping-related costs are additional.   Additional veterinarian health certificate fees apply for transport across state lines.  Please ask about delivery arrangements should we be able to accommodate a meet-up place and work with you for an agreeable travel fee.

At the time you send payment, please include the name, complete address, and zip code of the person(s) whose name(s) will appear on the registration certificate.   Please make all checks payable to Carol Simenson

(we can arrange to have you make payment on Venmo if that is easier for you )

We do not guarantee the health of an animal once it leaves the care and management of our farm.

By making a kid selection and deposit you agree to our published Terms of Sale posted here.

– To make a non-refundable deposit to hold kid until weaned.

– To pay the remainder at the time of pick up.

– To pick up the kid within two weeks of the agreed upon weaning date.

– Understanding that the sale can be canceled after two weeks of the agreed-upon weaning date if the seller deems it appropriate. The animal will be re-evaluated at this time.

Any purchases, traveling out of state, are made with the understanding that a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) will be provided by our local vet. Any cost associated with receiving the CVI will be added to the cost of the animal. Any additional tests requested by the buyer will be done for an additional charge & must be paid in advance of delivery or pick up.

                               HORN POLICY

We have decided not to dis-bud our kids here at our farm. We have both horned and de-horned goats and have had no problems with this mixed herd. We see horns as positive. Horns are full of blood vessels. This allows for a ” thermostat” ‘ that increases blood flow on hot days for cooling and constricts blood flow on cold days for heat retention. They also provide an essential tool for scratching. In situations where you need to catch a goat it provides a handle and they remain calm while you are holding them. Whether you have horned or non-horned goats you should practice safe handling of your goats in all situations. If you would like more information in regards to this, please contact us and we would be glad to discuss it further.

KID CARE BUNDLE

All our kids will have received 3 CDT vaccinations, microchipping, banding (if going home as wether), and pre-registrations with the Pygora Breeders Association.

We like to send you off with a  folder full of helpful care instructions, facts about our farm, and what we have done to date to prepare the kid for leaving our farm. We like to include a sample of the current feed the kid is on as well to help you with an easier transition.  Important tip for you; a goat is a herd animal. If you do not have another goat on your farm, you will want to purchase 2 goats minimum or you will be their herd.  A happier experience is planning your herd and who the members will be.

Additional information regarding Sales of Adult goats:

The Terms of Sales above apply.

If, after 30 days from the date on the Vet Certificate, the goats are not picked up  but you have paid in full we will add a caring and boarding fee. This fee will be reasonable and will be based on feed, if we are paying goat keepers to care for the herd if we have to be away, and other expenses for caring for them.   This fee will range from $45 -$125 a month.

If you have made a deposit and we go ahead and do what we agree to do and you do not fully pay for the goat/s within 30 days of the Vet Certificate, then we have the right to fully cancel the transaction with no refund coming back to you.
